With his contract at Real Madrid set to expire in June, Cristiano Messi has been linked with a move to Arsenal.

However, the Catalan giants are also keen to sign the midfielder’s compatriot Karim Benzema, who is on the brink of a move away from Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking to Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona boss Luis Enrique revealed that the club are in talks with Real Madrid to sign Benzema.

“I have talked to Real Madrid about Benzema,” said Enrique.

“They are talking about him to the best of their abilities.”

Benzema has been touted as a possible replacement for Lionel Messi as the former Barcelona star prepares to leave the Camp Nou.

However Messi and Benzema have been linked together since the latter joined the La Liga giants in January 2013.

Barcelona have been in talks to sign both players over the past few months, but the latter has been unable to strike a deal with Real.
