The median hourly wage in the U.S. was $17.77 an hour in 2016, according to a report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

That’s down from $21.07 an hour five years ago.

The median annual wage in 2016 was $49,084.

But the median hourly pay for graphic designers, graphic designers at large, graphic design services and graphic designers in the arts and design was $50,000 or more, according the report.

The report, which is based on data from the BLS, also found that median annual wages for graphic design professionals in 2016 were up 14 percent compared with 2015.

Graphic design and digital designers have seen an average wage rise of 14 percent since 2009, according.

That said, graphic designer at large is still down 4 percent since 2014, the report found.
