3 people arrested in US for allegedly running ‘Gigantic’ graphic design business
3 people were arrested on Thursday in New York City after being charged with running a graphic design firm known for making graphic designs the size of a skyscraper.
According to the New York Post, the three were arrested after authorities seized their computers and phones.
The three are being held on $250,000 bail each.
The graphic design company, Gizmo Group, has been making graphic design contracts for companies including Apple, Google and others since 2004, according to the Post.
It also has a web design division, the company’s website says.
The New York Police Department said in a statement that it was notified of the arrests.
The department said that while the arrests were “a first for New York,” it had previously arrested people and made “serious charges” involving graphic design.
According the statement, Giza, an employee of the company, was arrested on Oct. 6, 2017.
Authorities were able to identify him and the others through the search warrant that was executed at the firm’s offices in the Bronx, the statement said.
Giza allegedly ran the company without permission, the police statement said, but did not identify the companies’ alleged owners.
The alleged owner was not arrested.
Giza, 29, is a former employee of Gizma Group and was arrested the day before the New Year.
The New York Times reported that Giza is the only employee who was employed at the company.
Gizmo was founded in 2008 and has offices in New Jersey and Connecticut.
The firm’s website states that its primary mission is to “bring the design of new products to life through creativity and passion.”
The Post reported that it has since obtained documents that it believes prove the company was “owned” by a third person, the owner of which is not named.
The company is based in Manhattan.
A spokeswoman for Giza declined to comment on the Post’s report.
Gazette reports that Gizmogroup has a “small but thriving online business,” which it said is focused on making “premium graphic design and illustration for a variety of clients.”
It says that it also sells “products for weddings, corporate events, government agencies, and schools and has partnered with many local businesses.”
Gizmobles website says the company “provides high-quality graphics for websites and applications including web design, logos, and advertising.”
It is not clear whether the arrests occurred before or after the company posted the video of a Gizmat in the video game Battlefield Hardline.
In the game, a graphic designer is tasked with creating a giant super-computer.
In the video, the super-computing is displayed in a room and a giant computer is seen sitting on a desk.
A narrator says: “The only way to get the Gizmic is to buy it.”
In the game’s credits, a voice says that the GIZM is “the ultimate tool for making your clients happy, as well as the ultimate tool in your toolbox.”
